A Just East Bay – where all communities have supports in place to not only survive, but to thrive.

The East Bay Community Foundation partners with donors, social movements, and the community to eliminate structural barriers, advance racial equity, and transform political, social, and economic outcomes for all who call the East Bay home.

$84 million in grants

In 2016, we gave over $84 million in grants to nonprofits in the East Bay and beyond. We invested in organizations that are working to make a more equitable Bay Area, bolstering their success and growing their impact.

1,548 Organizations

We gave grants to over 1,500 nonprofits, supporting issues ranging from early childhood success and economic empowerment.

380 Donors

East Bay Community Foundation donors make our work possible. It is because of your generosity that we have been able to support the impact of nonprofits in the East Bay and beyond.

293 Cities

In 2016, we supported over 290 cities, and even more individual communities with our grant-making. The East Bay is a diverse region and we ensure our investments reflect this diversity.
