Kristen Summers

Grants & Scholarships Manager

Kristen Summers joined the Grants Management team at East Bay Community Foundation in April 2022 as Grants & Scholarships Manager. She joined the Foundation because she is inspired by its commitment to justice in all aspects of the work. Kristen values streamlining processes with an eye toward equitable grantmaking and is happy to bring her skills in trust-based philanthropy and data analysis/visualization to the team. 

Kristen started her career in grants management six years ago at Saint Luke’s Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. She is a long-standing member of the professional association PEAK Grantmaking and served in a leadership capacity for the PEAK Mideast Chapter from 2018 to 2022. Kristen also serves on the board of Social Venture Partners, Cleveland, and is a co-chair for the Equity Committee.  

Prior to working in philanthropy, Kristen worked in the international education field having earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in French Translation from Kent State University. In her spare time, Kristen enjoys spending time with her husband and energetic young son and hiking the many beautiful trails in Ohio.
