In this two-part series, participants will learn what a QCD is, who they benefit, why they are important, and when they are relevant.

The first session will focus on:
- Introduction to QCDs: Gain a comprehensive overview of what Qualified Charitable Distributions are, including the eligibility requirements and the significant tax advantages they offer for clients aged 70½ or older.
- How QCDs work: Learn about how your clients can use this tool to achieve both philanthropic and financial goals and generate maximum benefits. This session will cover the mechanics of making QCDs from IRAs, understanding the annual limits, and the impact on required minimum distributions (RMDs).
- Advising Clients: Develop strategies for advising clients on incorporating QCDs into their charitable giving plans. This includes identifying ideal candidates for QCDs, discussing potential pitfalls, and ensuring compliance with IRS regulations.
- Interactive Q&A Session: Engage with Jim King and fellow professional advisors in a dynamic Q&A session to address specific questions, share experiences, and deepen your understanding of QCDs.
The second session will prioritize answering your questions and exploring case study examples.
About the Presenter:
Jim King is an expert in the field of charitable giving and financial planning. He brings a wealth of knowledge and practical insights, particularly since he’s sat on both sides of the desk since his retirement. Jim was a Certified Financial Planner (CFPR) and Registered Investment Advisor, he founded and operated J.P. King Advisors for 40 years before retiring in 2021. Jim is also a former EBCF Board Chair and a former Professional Advisors Leadership Council (PALC) member. He remains an active fundraiser for his alma mater and two other non-profit organizations.
