On April 23, 2020, EBCF hosted a Virtual Town Hall to share updates on the progress of our COVID-19: Just East Bay Response Fund, our related grant-making to local organizations, and offer insight into the impact and anticipated needs of communities moving forward. To date, EBCF has granted over $1M to East Bay organizations who are providing direct financial assistance to individuals and families experiencing economic hardship, as well as frontline organizations that are supporting the most vulnerable populations in our community.

With the health, well-being, and safety of our community members as a top priority, the Town Hall took place over Zoom and featured remarks from EBCF President & CEO James Head, Foundation staff, and representatives from our nonprofit partners. Thank you to all that participated.

The full Virtual Town Hall can be viewed below.

Hosted by the East Bay Community Foundation, COVID-19: A Just East Bay Response Fund will rapidly deploy resources to organizations addressing the social and economic impacts of the broader COVID-19 outbreak, including the immediate needs of communities and organizations affected by coronavirus-related closures. The Fund helps expand local capacity to address all aspects of the outbreak as efficiently as possible.

The East Bay Community Foundation is fortunate to be part of a compassionate, generous, and resilient community. In these times especially, the health, safety and well-being of our partners, staff and neighbors remains our top priority. In mobilizing to address the needs in East Bay communities in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the responsiveness and the outpouring of financial support from EBCF partners, donors, supporters, and friends has been inspiring.
