This Pride Month, we celebrate the joy, resilience, and power of LGBTQ+ communities — and we recommit to the work of building a world where everyone is safe, affirmed, and free to live authentically.
We know that celebration and resistance go hand in hand. Even as we gather in community and joy, LGBTQ+ people — particularly transgender people of color, queer youth, and LGBTQ+ elders — continue to face violence, discrimination, and political attacks on their rights and dignity. Visibility and solidarity matter, but they are not enough.
EBCF seeks out, supports, and funds organizations that have an intersectional approach to racial, economic, and gender justice. We know that none of us are free until we are all free, and we fund in ways that foster movement building, collaboration, and solidarity.
In the list below, we are featuring some of the many organizations doing vital work in the East Bay to promote self-affirmation, dignity, equality, visibility, representation, civil rights, and joy for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people.
You can give directly to these groups through your Donor-Advised Fund. For more information or support with your charitable giving, you can reach our Philanthropy team at philanthropy@eastbaycf.org.
