Anitra Smith is the Senior Director of Community Investment and Partnerships at the East Bay Community Foundation. As a community-centered social impact leader, she is passionate about building healthier communities and advancing economic and social mobility for children and families.
Anitra has held leadership roles at Oakland Thrives and Sunlight Giving, where she led place-based partnerships and grantmaking to expand access to opportunity and promote economic inclusion for families experiencing poverty across the region. With more than 15 years of experience in community-based health care, nonprofit leadership, philanthropy, and cross-sector collaboration, she has worked to strengthen nonprofits that center marginalized communities and community-defined solutions.
Anitra holds a Master of Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley, and a B.S. in Human Development from the University of California, Davis. A proud third-generation Oakland native, she enjoys traveling, reading, and exploring the outdoors.
